Today in Greek class... "Imperfect tense". We covered this tense last semester in Greek I but today we dealt with it in an advanced fashion. The imperfect tense is translated like this: I was seeing. It talks about a continuous action in the past. Thus it has continuous aspect while denoting an action in the past. Boring huh...

But the significant thing about the imperfect tense is that it makes a text come alive. For example, in telling a story, you could say: She went to the market and bought a pig. Then there was a man who told a silly story. If you use imperfect tense, it would be: She was going to the market and was buying a pig. Then there was a man who was telling a silly story.

It's probably not very obvious but the use of the imperfect tense makes the actions seem to be continuous even though they exist in the past.

Alright. Enough about Greek grammar.

Going to be a busy week. Choir practice tmw night, then choir performance on Friday and Saturday. All this on top of my usual work. Gee.
